NOTE TO CUSTOMERS:
UPDATE 3-30-2020: Due to the covid-19 crisis, we are hoping to ship RMFIs in April.
Since our fire in June, we've returned various Radiant products to "shipping" status, with the exception of the very popular "MFI" - our triple function indicator.
Prior to the fire, we had identified an engineering issue with the product. The Air Speed functionality was occasionally unstable. Post-fire, James dug deep into the problem, making changes to the firmware and hardware design of the MFI design.
Recently, the root cause of the issue has been identified. Put simply, the original specified Air Speed Sensor which specified several yeas ago is no longer showing the reliability vs temperature changes that James (and you) expect. This was determined in December.
James is redesigning the unit to use a far more expensive (and exceptionally stable) air speed sensor. You will get your order shipped with this new sensor, without change in price for existing orders.
We're waiting on James to finish and validate the design changes. We expect a confirmation of engineering in January, and shipments in March.
If you are willing to wait, it will be a really great improvement over the older MFI design.
Belite’s new RADIANT instrument line combines many functions into simple, small, lightweight units. The new instruments utilize sunlight readable full color high contrast LCD screens which are also friendly with sunglasses.
This instrument shows simultaneous ASI, Altitude and VSI information in a single glance, easy to read format. All of this information is presented digitally and graphically on a single vivid LCD screen. This instrument shows Air Speed (various ranges), VSI (+/- 2000 fpm), Altitude to 20K.
All instruments are designed for a standard 2.25” cutout, and use approximately 100milliamps of power from a supply of 8 to 14 volts. All instruments are dimmable.
Instruments are available with ranges of 100mph, 160mph, 200mph, 100 knots, 160 knots.
